Back in July I wrote about an effort to acquire a scarce 1839-O Davignon 1-A counterfeit CBH from an unknown owner/seller (https://www.badmetalcoin.com/post/housekeeping-updates-and-other-info). Well, at the end of September this piece re-appeared for sale from the same owner now selling it to another collector. Intent on not making the other collector suffer the same or similar fate that I experienced, this other collector and I figured out a way to ensure the successful completion of this transaction to the greatest extent possible. In sum, while I did not end up owning this variety for my collection (hopefully one day I will), I'm very happy this piece has found a home in another strong collection, and that this story has a happy ending.
