Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to grow our knowledge and understanding of contemporary counterfeit U.S. coins one counterfeit coin and piece of information at a time.
The rules are simple - educate, get an education, and have fun.
Here, new varieties will be reported, and new research and information will be added about individual varieties (and their families) in order to collectively gain a stronger understanding across the entire spectrum of contemporary counterfeit U.S. coins.
I greatly welcome and strongly encourage community participation. Every little bit of information added has lasting benefits. Over time, our collective efforts will produce some excellent results.
Sincerely your host,
Winston Zack
Well, since the other administrator put in a photo here, i will too...eBay find, base metal...kinda looks like a mintmark flaked off, possibly a C...?
Hello, Im a newbie and was researching some of my dads old coins and came across two that had no listings. One is a 1837 half with the 50 C. reverse, and the other is an 1838 with the 50C. reverse. From what I learned here is one is a 3-E, and the other is a 2-B. I was wondering if there is a markets for these or no? Thanks for any thing you can tell me.
