By itself, 1842 Davignon 1-A is a very scarce variety with almost 10 examples documented. But a counterfeit CBH turned into a love token is extremely rare. In fact, I've only documented 3 counterfeit CBHs turned into a love token, including this one. The initials here read SAS but we do not know whose initials these belonged to. This is probably your only opportunity to own a counterfet CBH which has been turned into a love token. This would truly be a piece that tells a potentially complex story which you can share and show-off to your numismatic friends.
