The 1843 C-1 variety quarter eagle counterfeit was struck on a brass planchet and thinly gold plated. This example still exhibits about 10% of the gold plating around the devices. Overall details show a piece in Fine+ condition thus exhibiting a reasonable amount of wear (for one reason or another). This piece is competitively priced compared with other examples I've sold in the past.
