Cast counterfeit large cents are scarce, in my experience seldom come up for sale, and they are in-demand for some collectors, especially the EAC community, but also folks filling holes in their contemporary counterfeit type set album. This piece was cast in white metal and presumably copper plated. Why someone would go through with this effort is beyond me unless they had a factory and could create a lot to make their time, effort, and expense worthwhile.
