This piece certainly was handled a lot, however I'm guessing most of that handling was done as a pocket-piece after this piece was removed from circulation to be used as real money.  Nevertheless, this hand-made die struck counterfeit half eagle is a scarce variety for the pre-Civil War type.  While it is well-worn, the overall appearance is quite nice without notable marks, hits, or other damage to speak of.
