This is 1 of just 2 1858-dated hand-made die struck counterfeit quarter eagle varieties yet documented.  The diagnostic obverse pick-up-point for this variety is the large date and 5 in the date which leans to the right.  The portrait style of Liberty also makes it look like she has bold cheeks and thick lips.  Details on the reverse are relatively correct.  This example has about 10-20% of its original gold plating left.  This is a nice, representative example of this variety
