I previously described this variety as a transfer die counterfeit. However, after further study, this is in fact a hand-made die variety associated with the Big Claw family; soon to be published in the next Bad Metal book. The Big Claw family also includes 1877 Z1-U (1 of 3 1877-dated hand-made die counterfeit Seated half dollar varieties).  This example exhibits F/VF details, no major distracting marks, and just some minor thin scratches on each side of the brass planchet.
