1878 Z1-Y is not all that rare of a variety. But what makes this piece special is that it was double struck. This feature is especially apparent on the reverse along the peripheral lettering, such as at DOL. This is the first ERROR contemporary counterfeit I believe I've ever offered here. I would normally keep a piece like this for my collection of double struck contemporary counterfeits, but I'm making this piece available to other collectors first!
 
I have no clear idea of what the level of interest, demand, and value an ERROR like this is worth to this subset of the numismatic community. If this doesn't sell in a fairly short period of time I may just add this in my error collection.
