VF+ details 1883 V-Nickel W/ CENTS which was gold plated to simulate the so-called 'Racketeer' nickel potentially to be disguised as a $5 gold piece. However, whoever plated this piece didn't quite get this one right since this reverse says CENTS whereas the 'true Racketeer' nickel should NOT have CENTS. This example is just that much more peculiar and harder to find! Overall a fun piece with a history that probably dates to the 1950s instead of the 1880s.
